Tigers Claws Back, But Falls Just Short Against Brownsburg
Tigers’s effort to come back from down five runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 5-3 to Brownsburg on Saturday. Tigers scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Courtney Welborn and a single by Kaitlyn Blevens.
Tigers couldn’t keep up with Brownsburg early in the game. Brownsburg took the lead on a home run in the first inning.
Tigers scored three runs in the fifth inning. Tigers’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Welborn and Blevens.
#9 got the win for Brownsburg. She lasted six innings, allowing nine hits and three runs while striking out one. #25 threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Welborn took the loss for Tigers. She surrendered two runs on three hits over two innings, walking one.
Tigers tallied ten hits on the day. Welborn, Hannah Wirey, and Blevens each managed multiple hits for Tigers. Blevens, Wirey, and Welborn each collected two hits to lead Tigers.
