Lebanon scored seven runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back as they beat North Montgomery 8 to 1 in conference action Tuesday evening in Memorial Park. Senior Ryan Nastav started the scoring binge when he drove in sophomore Garrett Harker and junior Michael Reese who had reached on singles. Later in the inning, senior Jonathan Moore would also drive in two with his double over the left fielder’s head. Junior Nick Nies and sophomore Matthew Coddington also knocked in runs in the inning. In all, the Tigers sent thirteen batters to the plate scoring their seven runs on eight hits and a pair of walks. Moore would drive the other Lebanon run with a single in the 4th. Kai Warren scored North’s lone run in the 6th after singling to start the inning. He eventually scored on a passed ball.
Harker started for the Tigers and got the win. He went six strong, giving up the one unearned run on two hits and a walk. He struck out ten. Moore pitched a perfect 7th fanning two. Jaxon Plant started for the Chargers and was the loser. He did not make it out of the 1st and was the first of five North pitchers on the day.
Nies ended up with three hits for the game. Moore and Nastav both had two hits. The win moves the Tigers to 7 and 7 on the season, 4 and 3 in Sagamore Conference play. Weather permitting, they will travel to take on the Chargers again Thursday evening at 6:00.
