It was certainly close, in fact it went down to the wire, but in the end University was able to hold off the Tigers 51-45. The #1 team in Class A was on the ropes, seeing a ten point fourth quarter lead dwindle to just three points with less than two minutes left, but the Trailblazers were able to knock down enough free throws to escape with the win.
LHS had three players in double-figures, led by Jaylen Washington’s 14 points and six rebounds. A pair of sophomores also had solid games with Kye Zimmerman and Carson Burtron each adding 12 points.
The Tigers are now 6-15 on the season, and host Tri-County on Saturday, February 17th.
