WARRIORS WIN PITCHER’S DUEL, SWEEP TIGERS
Freshman Garrett Harker’s 12 strikeouts were not enough as Nick Buchanan fanned 7 himself and Danville beat Lebanon 2 to 1 Thursday evening at Memorial Park to complete the season sweep. The Warriors scored their two in the 2nd as Harker hit the leadoff man, Jackson Wynn, who would come home on Isaac MacGregor’s opposite field big fly to right field. The Tigers scratched out their run in the 3rd when Senior Ben Johnson led off with a double and would eventually score on Senior Haydn Parker’s groundout. LHS threatened in the 5th and 6th but Buchanan shut the door each time.
Buchanan went the full 7 innings, giving up the one earned on 5 hits, a pair of walks, and a hit batter. Harker also went the distance giving up the two earned on 5 hits, a walk, and the hit batter. Johnson led the Tigers at the plate as he also singled in addition to his double.
The loss drops the Tigers to 8 and 12 on the year, 5 and 5 in conference. They have the weekend off and will next face conference foe Southmont, Monday evening at home.
