Congratulations to LHS 2025 Winter Sports Awards! “Athletes Achieving Excellence in Athletics and Academics” 3.3 B+ Scholar Awards: Explain Award: Student athletes that received a weighted grade point average of 3.3 or higher in the second 9 weeks of school which is most of the winter season. This does not include carry over grade point averages. All first-time students receiving this honor will receive a scholar pin and a tee-shirt that reads, “Student Athletes Achieving Excellence in Academics.” Second time recipients will receive a plaque. In the fall we had 268 total athletes and 192 received this honor for the first time. Last year, in the winter we had total of 149 winter athletes and 90 were recognized with a 3.3 B+ Scholar award and out of those 90 athletes, 51 received the honor for the second time. Tonight, I am proud to announce that this winter we had 149 total athletes and 105 will be recognize for this tremendous academic honor. And 62 will receive this honor for the second time.
