The Tigers XC teams traveled to Terre Haute Saturday night to race under the lights in the Nike Twilight meet. This meet is one of the largest high school XC races with over 150 teams and 3,000 runners in attendance competing from all over the US. The JV girls started the night with 395 runners in the JV race. Running for the Lady Tigers was Hayleigh Coyle (211th); Leah Ziats (280th); Hadley Warren (288th); and Abbie Guilliams finished out for the girls (305th). Next up was the Boys Open race. This race was run in two races to combine a total of 745 runners and 83 teams. We had a few top runners out due to sickness and with just enough to score as a team, we rallied to place 59th out of 83 teams. Tyler Meyer was the leader of the group, followed by Isaac Harvey, Levi Pittman, Jovani Suarez, Philip Kiper, and Jesse Acton. Looking forward to having everyone healthy and running in Conference this weekend. Finishing out the evening was the Girls Open race with 476 total runners. Penny Lamerson ran a very strong race from the beginning and took over the lead to come home with a 1st place finish in a time of 19:18 and also helped the Lady Tigers with a great team finish in 14th out of 56 teams. Sophie Kyker followed in 94th, Abbi Riggs in 127th, Claire Larson 192nd, and Izzy Metheny 219th and right behind was Haley Tiefel in 220th and rounding out the top 7 was Soteria Udu in 256th. Also running in the Open race was Averee Maciel in 312th; Amellia Spencer with a PR (24:59) in 323rd, and Marli McConnell showed some grit by pushing through some shin pains to finish out for the team.
