Eagle Classic Cross Country Results

The Tigers XC teams traveled to Brown County on Saturday to run in the Eagle Classic. The Tigers participated in 4 of the 7 races on another warm day for racing. The varsity girls’ and boys' races had several schools participating but were scored out as A or AA division, we were considered AA. To start the day of racing Penny Lamerson ran in the girls' Elite race with some great competition placing 35th out of 164 runners with a time of 19:36. The combined Varsity girls 1A-2A race had 258 runners, with 149 runners racing from the AA division. The lady Tigers placed 10th out of 17 teams. Leading the race with a 22nd place finish was Sophie Kyker in a time of 21:41, followed by teammates Abbi Riggs 32nd, Claire Larson 61st, Izzy Metheny 66th, Haley Tiefel in 67th, Averee Maciel 67th, and rounding out top 7 was Soteria Udu in 95th. Also running in the Varsity race in Marli McConnell 110th (PR 25:17), Leah Ziats 120th and Hayleigh Coyle 121st. We also had two that raced in the girls Reserve race with 257 runners in the race: Hadley Warren 165th and Abbie Guilliams 230th. The Varsity boys’ combined race had 290 runners, with 169 runners racing from the AA division. As a team we placed 12th out of 19 complete teams. Leading the way was William Meyer in 34th with a time of 17:52, followed by teammates Tyler Meyer in 38th, Isaac Harvey 72nd, Levi Pittman 76th, rounding out the scoring Brynner Sloan in 103rd. Finishing out for the boys was Jovani Suarez 104th, Philip Kiper 116th and Jesse Acton 146th. The Tigers will host their senior night Thursday, Sept 19th, in the LHS Community Rooms. Announcements will start at 5:00 p.m. Next race will be the Golden Bear Invite on Saturday, September 21st, at the Blue River Cross Country Venue in Shelbyville.
