The Tigers XC teams traveled to Danville to run in the Hokum Karem and both teams had an overall great day! This was a relay race that consist of up to 5 pairs of runners per team. Each partner in the race ran three legs of a mile. The top 3 pairs scored with the 4th pair being a pusher. There was also a two-mile reserve race for the day. The Lady Tigers had 15 points to take 1st out of 8 complete teams. This race had 36 total pairs and leading the way with a 1st place overall finish was Sophie Kyker and Penny Lamerson with a time of 37:27! Running in the top 10 placing 4th was the freshman duo Abbi Riggs and Alexis Lahrman (39:26); followed in 14th was Claire Larson and Izzy Metheny (43:03); 15th Haley Tiefel and Averee Maciel (43:04); 19th Amellia Spencer and Soteria Udu (44:53). The Tigers took 2nd out of 10 complete teams with 37 points! With 46 total pairs competing in the boys' race Tyler & William Meyer placed 6th with a time of 32:23, followed by Isaac Harvey and Jesse Acton in 14th (35:00); rounding out the scoring in 17th Brynner Sloan and Levi Pittman (35:35); also running in the Varsity race was Jovani Suarez and Philip Kiper in 23rd (36:25). JV RACE – This race was a combined girls’ & boys’ two-mile race with Charlotte Kleindl leading the Lady Tigers placing 1st place overall in a time of 15:14. Followed by Marli McConnell in 3rd (15:38); Hayleigh Coyle 4th (16:21); Hadley Warren 6th (16:40); Abbie Guilliams 11th (17:15); Leah Ziats 12th (17:19). We had one running for the boys’ team, Joel Salinas placing 14th (14:26). The Tigers XC teams will run in the Leap Into September Invitational on Tuesday, September 3rd, hosted by Southmont High School.
