Tigers News · Congrats to LHS Boys Cross Country Team: Regional Qualifiers

The Tigers Cross Country team traveled to Noblesville on Saturday, October 10th, to run in a very tough Sectional race with teams from Carmel, Westfield, Noblesville, Guerin Catholic, Hamilton Heights, Tipton, Western Boone, Tri-Central, and Sheridan.  The top five teams from Sectionals qualify to move on to Regionals.  For individuals to advance to Regional competition runners had to finish in the top 10 not on the advancing 5 teams.

The Tigers did a great job representing LHS coming home with six girls advancing as individuals, and the boys’ team will advance as a team!

The girls’ team finished 6th out of 7 complete teams for the day. We had two Lady Tigers finish in the top 20 to make All Sectional, leading the way was Freshman Nadia Jones with a PR time of 19:58 in 17th and Murphy Adams with a SB time of 20:02 in 20th.  Abbi Coyle placed 29th, to finish the scoring and finishing respectively in 38th & 39th both with PR’s was Jessica Fischer (22:09) and Jaleigha Howard (22:11).  Rounding out the Varsity race was Kloe Coyle in 43rd and Sophomore Gracie Stoller was not able to finish due to an injury. Congrats to Nadia, Murphy, Abbi, Jessica, Jaleigha, and Kloe for all advancing as individuals to Regionals!

The boys’ team finished 5th out of 8 complete scoring teams to take the last spot as an advancing team! Leading the way for the boys’ team was Sophomore Aiden Frost in 24th. Followed by John “JD” Hawks in 26th, Ryan Keith 27th with a PR in 17:36, Zachary West in 28th, and to finish the scoring for the boys was Kyler Strange in 33rd. Rounding out the top 7 for the day was Sriram Srinivasan 34th, and Alex Emenhiser in 35th with a PR time of 18:10.


The Regional race will be held back at Noblesville this Saturday, October 17th. To advance to Semi-State they will need to be one of the top 5 teams or finish as a top 10 individual not on an advancing team.
