Tigers News · Eagle Classic Cross Country Results: Congrats Zachary West New School Record!

The Tigers Cross Country teams traveled to Brown County this past Saturday to run in the Eagle Classic. Congratulations to Zachary West for breaking the school record in a time of 15:58.6!! West held the record from the 2019 season in a time of 16:00.4.

The varsity boys’ were added to the Elite race this year, with 14 outstanding teams (9 of the 14 being ranked in the top 24 in the State). We placed 13th with some great performances for the day.  The boys’ team started out with West leading the way in 17th, followed by JD Hawks in 80th (17:18), Aiden Frost 86th (PR 17:24), Sriram Srinivasan101st (17:53), Kyler Strange 111th (18:14), Alex Emenhiser 114th (PR 18:32), Dylan Krehely 126th (19:14), Jordan Yoder 128th (19:31), Aydan Wetter 19th (19:39), and rounding out the Varsity boys was Aaron Gommel in 130th (19:41).

The Lady Tigers placed 6th out of 20 teams, and we had 3 girls place in the top 20 to medal or ribbon for the race.  Leading the way was Nadia Jones in 7th (20:03), Murphy Adams 11th (20:26), Abbi Coyle 18th (20:31), Kloe Coyle 76th (PR 22:35), Jessica Fischer 83rd (22:57), Sarah Keith 102nd (PR 23:56), Jaleigha Howard 105th (24:11), rounding out for the Lady Tigers was Breanna Page in 148th (28:35)

Reserve boys’ race came out and placed 11th out of 19 schools, with 225 runners in the race.  Lots of PR’s or SB’s for the reserve race.  Leading the way for the Tigers was Abram Hale in 71st (SB 19:47), Beau Burgin 78th (PR 19:51), Johnny Trepcos 89th (PR 20:09), Braden Robison 97th (SB 20:19), Carter Thurnall 104th (PR 20:27), Vaughn Royal 120th (20:45), Eli Taylor 141st (PR 21:24), Aleks Warkentien 167th (PR 22:22), Carter Hammons rounded out the Tigers in 174th (22:37).

The Tigers will host their only home meet this Thursday, Sept 17th, for senior night.  The senior night announcement will start before the meet at 4:45.  The girls’ will go 1st following the senior night, the boys’ will follow the last girl finisher.
