Tigers News · Congrats to the LHS and LMS G-Force Members for their support to help fight against Alzheimer’s

Another positive example of LCSC students participating in great activities for a good cause. Thanks to all! TIGER PRIDE!

The Lebanon G-Force is a student- led organization sponsored by LHS teacher and coach Dave Ferrell along with his wife Phyllis.  The Lebanon G-Force raises funds for the Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.  Started in 2014 by Luke and Jack Ferrell in memory of their grandfather, Garland, the team of Lebanon Middle School and Lebanon High School students has grown to over 50 members.  In 5 years they have raised over $13,000 for Alzheimer’s research, awareness, and programming to support patients and their families in our community.  “We created the G-Force so that other kids don’t have to lose their grandfathers like we did,” said Luke Ferrell, LHS Junior.  “And it is a lot of fun to raise money and then attend the Walk downtown with all of our friends,” says Jack Ferrell, LMS 6th grader.  This year alone they raised $7,000 through bake sales, fundraising at the football game, donations, and even “went purple” at LHS and LMS tennis matches (photos attached).  On October 6th, the Alzheimer’s Association of Indiana awarded them with the “Team Spirit Award” for the Indianapolis Walk.  The Lebanon Sports Boosters supported the kids through a matching donation, as well.  “ The Sports Boosters are here to support student athletes in all of their endeavors, not just in buying sports equipment.  So we were thrilled to see this group of student athletes taking on community service, and wanted to show our support for their leadership on and off the field,” states Dee Hood, President Lebanon Sports Boosters.  Thank you to Neighborhood Creations for a discounted rate for the team shirts and to all in our community who donated!  [Photo’s attached by Love Photography]
