Tigers News · Sagamore Conference Cross Country Results: Congrats Lady Tigers Conference Champions!

LHS Tigers Cross Country teams traveled to Danville High School to compete in the Sagamore Conference on Saturday.


It was a BIG day for the Lady Tigers.  Winning the Conference for the 1st time since 1998 and the lead Tiger runner Freshman, Murphy Adams, breaking the school record!!!  The Lady Tigers had outstanding performances from ALL the girls.  The girls’ took 1st with 51 points, six points in front of Conference favorites Crawfordsville with 57 points.  Western Boone 3rd (65 pts), Frankfort 4th (71 pts), Danville 5th (110 pts), and North Montgomery 6th (129 pts).  Southmont and Tri-West did not have complete teams for scoring.  Leading the pack was Freshman Murphy Adams in 3rd place breaking the school record in a time of 20:19!!  The previous record was held by teammate Katie Hasty in a time of 20:49.  Making 1st team All-Conference was Emerson Haines in 6th and Abbi Coyle 7th.  Making 2nd team All-Conference was Katie Hasty in 12th.  The 5th runner, Jessica Fischer, stepped it up to help push the girls to the victory in 26th place; Riley Holland 34th and Maleigha Howard in 38th.  Congratulations Lady Tigers on outstanding performances!!


The Varsity boys’ team placed 5th out of 8 teams with 150 points.  Crawfordsville took 1st place with 41 points.  Leading the way for the boys’ team was Camren Toole in 19th place, making 2nd team All-Conference!  After taking a hard fall in the woods, Zachary West placed 24th. Completing the scoring for the Tigers was Hunter Smith 34th, Aaron Gommel 35th, and David Bradley 38th. Also running in the Varsity race was Freshman Caleb McKaig in 52nd and senior Jonathan Moore in 54th.  Congratulations to Camren Toole for making 2nd team All-Conference!!


The Tigers will travel to Noblesville to compete in Sectionals this Saturday, October 6th.  Races will begin with the Varsity girls’ race at 10:30 a.m., the Varsity boys’ race will follow at 11:15.


In the JV boys’ race, Tiger runners Carter Thurnall finished in 10th, John Stillwell 14th, and Mason McWaters in 16th.
