Lebanon Welcomes Nicholas Carothers as New Head Lady Tigers Basketball Coach

Nicholas Carothers has been selected as the new head coach of the Lebanon High School Lady Tigers Basketball program.  We invite all players, coaches, fans, community members and media to attend a meet and greet with Coach Carothers at LHS on Thursday, August 2nd in the Herman B. Wells Community Room #3 at 6 p.m.

Coach Carothers is a graduate of Arlington High School. He attended Indiana University and will pursue a teaching degree and licensure at the University of Indianapolis in January. He has a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience with the game of basketball and has demonstrated he is extremely proficient in handling administrative tasks, scheduling, scouting, communicating, player development and game planning. His personality is very outgoing and good-natured, which has allowed him to develop positive relationships with his players, parents, coaches and fans of the game. He has been coaching basketball for over 10 years and in this time working with male and female basketball players at all different age levels. He has held the positions of Assistant Boys Basketball Coaching at Herron High School, Assistant Girls Varsity Coach at Shortridge High School, Head Girls Basketball Travel Coach for Hamilton Southeastern, Assistant Boys Basketball and Head Girls Basketball Coach at Clinton Central High School, and the Head Coach for the professional women’s basketball team the Indianapolis Bandits. He has also worked for 100% Hoops LLC in Carmel, teaching and mentoring young players to improve their basketball skills on the court and their character off the court. In addition, over the last several years, Coach Carothers has been at Butler University working their basketball camps, clinics and providing their college players with individual player development work-outs. Current Head Boys Butler University Basketball Coach LaVall Jordan, and current Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at Franklin College, Chantel Poston, who played and coached with Coach Carothers, speak very highly of Coach Carothers and believe he will do an outstanding job as the Lebanon Lady Tigers Head Basketball Coach.

Coach Carothers is very enthusiastic, has a tremendous amount of basketball knowledge and experience, a high level of passion for the game of basketball and helping student athletes achieve success on and off the court. “I am extremely excited and looking forward to having the opportunity to work with Coach Carothers, and I believe he is an excellent addition to our Tiger coaching family,” affirms Philip Levine, Lebanon High School Athletic Director.

Coach Carothers will also hold a full time Instructional Aide teaching position in the Lebanon High School Special Education Department during the school day. Coach Carothers resides in Indianapolis with his wife Joanna and his two sons, 12-year-old Thomas and three-year-old Carter.
