Multiple Teams · Boys & Girls Cross Country Celebrate Senior Night with impressive results in the Tiger Invitational


CROSS COUNTRY

The Tigers hosted Clinton Central, Sheridan, University, and Western Boone on senior night in the Tiger Invitational Thursday evening.

The boys’ team took 1st place with 36 points. Western Boone 2nd with 43 points, Clinton Central 3rd with 59, University 4th with 93, and Sheridan did not have a complete team. The Tigers came out with the senior duo of Alex Brummett and Robby Muse-Myers leading the pack.  Alex Brummett is the repeat champion of the invite, breaking his course record from last year (17:45) with a time of 17:21, Robby Muse-Myers 2nd with a time of 17:44.  Rounding out the scoring for the Tigers was Camren Toole in 8th, Hunter Smith 10th, and Rafe Crow 15th.  Finishing in the top 7 – Senior Brady Hines (18th) and Aaron Gommel (21st).

Also running for the Tigers was Peyton Rex, David Bradley, John Stillwell, Cade Ping, Grant Patrick, Mason McWaters, Phillip Betts, Noah West, and Kade Cooper.

The Lady Tigers took 2nd place with 52 points, behind a good Western Boone team with 32 points.  University 3rd with 66 points, and 4th Clinton Central with 83.  Emerson Haines took the lead early to finish as the Tiger Invite Champion with a new course record of 21:37.  Breaking the previous course record that was set last year by Western Boone Lauryn Florey (21:59).  Katie Hasty had a great race finishing in 5th with a time of 22:11.  Senior Kate Stanley with a strong race finished 14th, Riley Holland 18th, Jessica Fischer 20th, and Senior Teresa Perez in 21st.

 

The Tigers will compete at the Riverview Health Flashrock Invitational in Carmel on Saturday.
