Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Lady Tigers Soccer Achieve Conference Win over Crawfordsville 8-0


The LHS Girls Soccer team hosted the Crawfordsville Athenians in varsity and JV action.  The varsity Lady Tigers opened the matches with a comprehensive 8-0 victory over the Lady Athenians. The Lady Tigers had a 4-0 lead going into half with goals in the first half coming from Kirstin Byrd, Lilly Haines with 2 and sophomore Madison Maher adding another.  Sophomore Madison Maher would go onto have another goal amounting to a brace and two assists in the match.  In the second half the Lady Tigers would add  another 4 goals with junior Captain Lilly Haines completing her hat trick and junior Kirstin Byrd add to her scoring total this season with another brace.  Junior Laura Lemen would account for a well placed assist in the second half contributing to the Lady Tigers comfortable home victory and her first assist of the season.  Coach Hyatt would like to acknowledge the fine performances by junior captain Lilly Haines, registering her first hat trick of the season and sophomore Madison Maher registering a brace and two assists.  The Lady Tigers’ backline was able to keep the action relatively quiet for senior GK Alyssa who was called into action with her feet more than her hands this match.  A number of substitutes gave solid contributions including junior Taylor Metzger, junior Kelsey Stogsdill, sophomore Chloe Stogsdill and freshman Lexi Trepcos. Trepcos would go on to score her first varsity goal with a well struck shot after some speedy dribbling to break down the Lady Athenian defenders.

 

In JV action, the Lady Tigers won 1-0 with freshman Summer Stogsdill accounting for the JV match’s lone goal.

The Lady Tigers travel to Western Boone next Tuesday in varsity and JV conference play with varsity starting at 5:00 pm.
