Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Lady Tigers Soccer defeats Park Tudor 1-0

The LHS Girls Soccer team hosted the Park Tudor Panthers in JV and varsity action. The JV team opened the evening defeating the Lady Panthers 9-6 in a very high scoring affair. The JV team was lead by a hat trick from sophomore Chloe Stogsdill and a brace from freshman Lexi Trepcos.  In the varsity match, the Lady Tigers held onto a 1-0 victory with the goal coming in the first half from in-form forward Kirstin Byrd who added to her goal scoring tally from an accurately placed pass from junior captain Lilly Haines.  In a match that did not see many opportunities for either side, the Lady Panthers GK was quick off her line and secure with the ball the entire match. The Lady Panthers proved to be a difficult side to break down and made a number of timely challenges to break up the Lady Tiger attack.   The Lady Tigers were more than up for to the task defensively as Coach Hyatt would like to credit each of the varsity backs: Lizzie Hart, Tori Bennett, Amber Brummett, Sara Hammerle and Jessica Lehmkuhler with smart, disciplined, organized and tough defending the entire night. The Lady Tigers only conceded 2 shots on goal the entire night which senior GK Alyssa Downs handled rather comfortably.  The Lady Tigers were able to avenge the comprehensive defeat at Park Tudor last season with a hard fought, disciplined and overall deserved victory over the Lady Panthers at home. The Lady Tigers will host conference opponent Crawfordsville this Wednesday with Varsity playing first at 5:30 pm and a JV half to follow at approximately 7:00 pm.
