ERRORS HURT TIGERS AGAIN IN LOSS TO MOUNTIES
Four Lebanon errors resulted in eight unearned runs Monday night at Southmont, as the Tigers fell to the Mounties 10 to 5. Junior Haydn Parker started for LHS and gave up eight runs, only one earned, in just two and two-thirds innings. He allowed six hits and two hit batters. He walked none and struck out one. Junior Ben Johnson came on in relief and threw an inning and a third. He allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits. He also didnât walk anyone and struck out two. Freshman Michael Reese pitched a perfect final two innings, striking out two.
Cole Wemer was the starter for Southmont and got the win. He went four innings, giving up four earned on three hits, a pair of walks, and two hit batters. Cole Roach covered the last three innings and gave up an unearned run on a hit and a pair of walks. Wemer struck out six with Roach just behind with five. Junior first baseman Tyler Welborn had two hits and an RBI for the Tigers.
Mondayâs game was the first of what will be a busy week for Lebanon, with five games left to be played. First up on Tuesday they will take on the Mounties again in a 6:00 game at Memorial Park. Then on Wednesday, again at home, the Tigers will take on Speedway. It will be Senior Night, with recognition of the Seniors at 5:15 followed by the game at 5:30. On Friday the Tigers visit Tri-West for the last conference game of the season with the first pitch at 6:30. Then on Saturday the Tigers close out the regular season participating in a four team tournament at Twin Lakes High School in Monticello. They take on Tippecanoe Valley in the second game at approximately 12:30. A loss would put them in the consolation game immediately following, while a win means playing for the championship at approximately 5:30.
