TIGERS OUTHIT BRAVES BUT FALL IN FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME
Despite a big day at the plate from senior catcher Bryce Shearer, who finished 3 for 3 with a home run, the Tigers lost 10-4 to Brebeuf on Saturday.
Michael Wentz got the win. He allowed three earned runs over five innings. He struck out one, walked one and gave up seven hits. Lou Snyder came on and pitched the final two innings, giving up one earned run on a hit and three walks. He fanned one.
Junior David Nastav started for LHS and took the loss. He went three innings, giving up four earned on three hits and five walks. He struck out two Braves and hit one. Sophomore Nick Bland came on in the 4th and was touched for five runs, only one earned, in just a third of an inning. He didnât allow a hit but did walk five. Sophomore Hayden Parker finished the game for the Tigers giving up one earned run on three hits and a walk.
In addition to Shearerâs two RBI, junior second baseman Evan Stambaugh knocked in the other two on groundouts in the 3rd and 7th innings. With the loss the Tigers finished the regular season at 10 and 12, 8 and 6 in conference, as they prepare for Sectional play. They will take on the North Montgomery Chargers at 5:00 on Wednesday at North Montgomery.
