On Thursday evening the Tigers Cross Country teams traveled to the Charger Classic Invitational at North Montgomery High School. Thirteen schools were represented at the meet with 85 runners in the boy’s race and 77 runners in the girl’s race making this one of the largest invitationals that Lebanon runs in. The weather conditions were perfect for fast times and that is what the team did. Every varsity runner had a personal best time at the meet. Awards were presented to the Top 15 in each race.
Lebanon boy’s improved their times overall and placed 8th as a team. It came down to a tie breaker as the Lebanon and Western Boone boy’s teams were tied with 170 points each. Personal Best race times were achieved by each of the boys. Tommy Veerkamp ran with the front pack to finish in 7th place with a time of 17:15, Robbie Muse-Myers crossed the line in 18:37 for a 27th place finish, Jacob Roahrig finished in 43rd (19:16), close behind were Nathan Wire (19:35) and Kory Ohlemacher (19:37) placing 46th and 47th respectively, Connor Belcher (20:19) cross the line in 63rd, and Noah West (20:51) finished up for the Tigers in 69th place.
Lebanon girl’s also improved their times overall and placed 9th as a team. Leading the Tiger girls was Macy Cooper who finished in 30th place with a time of 23:01, Casey Vancamp (24:16) came across the line in 44th, Kate Stanley (24:59) took 51st, in 53rd and 54th were Emily Merritt (25:10) and Charlotte Skillington (25:15), Ally Wire placed 56th with a time of 25:29, and Lian Ottinger (26:36) followed closely and finished in 68th.
The junior varisty girls and boys ran together in a JV race where the top runners were presented awards. Lebanon’s junior varsity teams ran extremely well with 26 entries in the girl’s race and 23 entries in the boy’s race..
Boys places and times: Nick Dafoe 9th (21:55), Aaron Fischer 13th (22:47), Gabe Kassab 15th (23:11), Luke Betts 16th (23:15), Garrett Rowe 17th (23:19), and Charlie Dickison 21st.
Girl’s places and times: Katelynn Johns 5th (24:44), Leah Skillington 13th (27:41), Grace Smith 14th (27:51), Rachelle Smith 18th (28:18), Bayleigh Saulmon 19th (28:21), Hayleigh Saulmon 20th (29:00), Lidaou Edjeouk 22nd (31:33), and Abbi Rettig 24th (31:40).
