Multiple Teams · Baseball: Caleb Myers 8 RBI lead Tigers over Stars 17-1

The Lebanon nine jumped out to an early lead on Western Boone and rolled to a 17-1 victory Thursday evening at Memorial Park.  Thirteen runs in the first three innings allowed the Tigers to put the game away early.  The big blow was a grand slam by Sophomore DH Caleb Myers in the bottom of the 1st.  He continued his offensive burst with a sac fly in the 2nd and a bases clearing double in the 3rd.  He wrapped up his night drawing a walk and scoring his third run of the game in the 4th.  Other Lebanon hitters scoring three times were Seniors Coty Edwards, on three walks, and Isaac Harker, along with Junior Nathan Kincaid, on a hit and being hit twice. On the mound, Tigers’ Senior Jackson Bennett turned in a dominate, nine-strikeout performance. He allowed only one run, on five hits and no walks over four innings.  Junior Wyatt Geisler pitched the scoreless fifth, striking out one. Zach Prickett was the game’s losing pitcher, giving up six runs in 1st that included Myers’ blast.  He gave up only the one hit but walked three and hit two.  He did have two strike outs. The 8th ranked Tigers will try to keep their winning ways going tonight in Memorial Park, when they take on county rival Zionsville at 6:00.
