Multiple Teams · Cross Country Teams Have Nice Showing at Clinton Central Relays

Saturday provided excellent weather for running, outstanding competition, and a great tune-up for conference later this week.

The girls ran well but fell just short to a talented Clinton Central squad placing 2nd. The finish was made a bit more exciting in that the girls had to go to the third relay team to pull away in a tie breaker. Scoring teams included the 5th place squad of Katelyn Johns, Miranda Dafoe, and Eliza Lennox, the 6th place squad of Sarah Curts, Megan Hammerle, and Charlotte Skillington, and the tie breaking trio of Shannon Jones, Rachelle Smith, and Grace Smith who finished 7th. The ladies ran well in this 4 team field.

On the boy’s side, the outcome of the final tally was the same against a very talented field. The boys finished 2nd out of 4 to Clinton Central. Scoring for the Tiger were the 4th place medalist group of Tommy Veerkamp, Nate Wire and Kory Ohlemacher. Also placing for the boys were the 6th place pack of Evan Cortez, Triston Fisher, and Conner Belcher and the 7th place group of Corey Edwards, Aaron Fisher, and Brandon Samson. The fine effort hopefully will provide a positive springboard for conference this Thursday at Southmont.
